This is a collaborative research project for the British Library in London. The library wanted to find a way to connect readers in real time, allow them to share research interests and get together to discuss common interests. Our proposal takes the book itself as a point of reference to achieve all these things. When registering as a reader the BL issue a personal notebook. This notebook offers various ways of digital and analogue connection. It tracks what books you read, uploads content to a central data repository that can be accessed by other readers and also connects to other books. We carried out some field research in the library observing readers and spatial layouts and how people interact in public spaces. Further information about this coming soon…
